ABOUT GIUSTO MANETTI BATTILORO
The story of the company started in the heart of Florence, at the start of the 1800s, when Luigi Manetti acquired a goldbeating in Via dei Pescioni. In 1820 the activity was passed down to his son Giusto, who created the Giusto Manetti Battiloro brand and maked it famous in what became the Kingdom of Italy. Following this, the new technology created by the arrival of the industrial revolution allowed Giusto’s son, Adolfo, to create a small-scale industry. Production moved to Via Ponte alle Mosse, and thanks to the company’s new production capacity, the Manetti brand conquered the European markets. After the World War I, Adolfo’s son Giusto, along with his son-in-law Guido, took over. The two of them further mechanised the production process, and achieved commercial success by conquering markets all over the world. This activity permitted Manetti Gold Leaf to shine from some of the most important buildings and monuments: from the Kremlin to the Rockfeller Center, from Versailles to the Louvre to Buckingham Palace. In subsequent years, under the guidance of sons Fabrizio and Lapo, the company overcame some very difficult events; the destruction of the factory during World War II and the great flood of Florence in 1966. Being run by the sixth generation of Manetti’s, the company is a global leader in the production of gold leaf. Giusto Manetti Battiloro employs 130 people on three sites, with a new plant under construction, and has two sister companies in Spain and Poland.
